About the project
TeamApt is a financial technology company that provides digital solutions and payment infrastructure to banks and businesses. The Company was founded by Tosin Eniolorunda in 2015, with the goal of accelerating transaction flows among individuals, banks, and businesses. TeamApt is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria and has 80 full-time employees. According to research by the World Bank, about 66% of Sub-Saharan Africans are still unbanked in 2019, which translates to over 500M people without access to a bank account. This shows a significant opportunity to drive financial inclusion outside of the traditional banking system.
This shows that the addressable market is sizable, and the opportunity to power the financial sector and serve the underbanked in Nigeria and Africa as a whole is significant. This is also shown by the prominence of mobile payments, increased start-up activity and innovation and the push for better regulation from the government by players in the space.
